Suzanne DeWitt

With over 21 years experience in international tax and private wealth planning, Suzanne DeWitt is an expert in the areas of global tax minimization and cross-border wealth planning and implementation.  Her work includes the structuring, formation and operation, on a cross-border basis, of a variety of alternative investment products, including U.S. and non-U.S. hedge funds, private equity funds, hybrid funds and funds-of-funds, as well as private banking and international tax and trust planning for very high net worth clients and financial institutions.  Additionally, Ms. DeWitt represents a number of significant Fortune 500 companies in their international, outbound tax planning and global tax minimization projects.
 
Prior to founding DEWITT PLLC, Ms. DeWitt was with the law firm of Baker & McKenzie, LLP, where she worked in the International and Federal Tax, Trust and Estates Department.  While there, she was extensively involved in developing and implementing creative and effective federal and international tax strategies and restructurings for high-net-worth individuals, as well as for Global 2000 and Fortune 500 companies.  Earlier, Ms. DeWitt worked in the same areas for Holland & Knight, LLP’s Federal Tax, Trust and Estates Department and with Arthur Andersen, LLP’s (later Deloitte & Touche, LLP) International Department, Tax & Business Advisory Services.  
 
Ms. DeWitt participated in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Accounting and Enforcement Division training program, where she actively participated in enforcement investigations.
 
Ms. DeWitt earned a B.A. cum laude in Business Management and Organization from the University of Miami, an M.B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Miami Graduate School of Business, and a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, followed by an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Miami School of Law (obtaining a certificate of specialization in International Taxation).  
 
She is a member of the Florida Bar Association and a member of the Federal Tax Division and participates in International Tax Outbound Committees. She has also participated in a vast array of seminars and publications throughout her career.
 
 

Rene Altamirano

Rene Altamirano has over 20 years of experience in international corporate law, corporate securities and international tax planning.  

Licensed to practice law in Mexico and Florida, Mr. Altamirano’s work specializes in general corporate law, designing efficient corporate tax structures, global tax minimization and cross border wealth planning and implementation.  

Mr. Altamirano holds a law degree from  Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico, an LLM and International Tax Program Certificate from Harvard Law School, a Masters in Business Administration from Florida International University, and a Juris Doctor From Florida International University.  He is fluent in Spanish and English.
